NAN PRO & NAN EXCELLAPRO are brands from the same parent company, NESTLE. The composition of these brands is nonidentical in different countries. Here, we will be discussing the formulation( from stage 1) available in INDIA.

1. MACRONUTRIENTS
In this category, both of these brands have a similar composition.
The key differences are-
- NAN PRO 1 has a whey: casein ratio of 70:30( similar to human breast milk), NAN EXCELLA PRO does not specify its whey-casin ratio.
- Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) are the third most represented component in breast milk. They serve as prebiotics, protect against severe illnesses like necrotizing enterocolitis, help in immune system maturation, reduce allergies and autoimmune diseases, and promote brain development & gut barrier maturation.2’FUCOSYLLACTOSE(2’FL) & Laco-N-Neotetraose (LNnT) are two HMO present in EXCELLAPRO.
- PHOSPHOLIPIDS– present in EXCELLAPRO. It helps in the absorption of lipids & in the development of cognitive function.
2. ELECTROLYTES/MINERALS
Similar profiles in both formulations.
3. MICRONUTRIENTS/ VITAMINS
- VIT A & VIT D are slightly higher in NAN PRO 1.
- The amount of choline is higher in EXCELLAPRO.
- L-PHENYLALNINE (an amino acid) is present only in EXCELLAPRO.

5. DIGESTION & TASTE
Both formulas taste good & easy to digest.
Personally, I don’t like any formula milk.
