DIET CHART FOR 1-2 YEAR OLD BABY
Frequency- cereals-based meals 4-5 times/day plus snacks 1-2 times
• Salt/sugar/ honey can be added after 1 year
• Amount – ¾ – 1 cup (180-240 ml)/serving
• Extra water- 1-4 cups/day
• Milk -2 cups/day
• Feed while baby is seated
• Breastfeeding after meal(keep the baby empty stomach for at least 2 hours before meal)
• Ideally everyday diet should include –
- Egg/ fish/ meat or milk or milk product(paneer/yogurt etc.)
- Pulses
- Green vegetables and fruit
- Cereals(rice/wheat/oats etc..)
• Do not force feed
• No fast food/chocolate/ cake/soda/candy
MEALS
1. Wheat cereal milk/Rice cereal milk with vegetables
2. Rice dal (3:1-2:1) mix/Dalia
3. Moong dal rice khichuri /Mix veg khichuri(rice, dal, vegetable)
4. Fish curry/rice or Ghee rice/chicken curry rice/ egg rice
5.Cerelac- stage 4 (12-24m) or stage 5(18-24m)/ Easum/nestum stage 3
SNACKS
Gajar ka halwa/Suji halwa/Sliced soft fruit/ Biscuit with milk/scrambled egg/omelet/ Boiled egg/Puffed rice powder with milk/Chicken soup
TIME TABLE (MODIFIABLE)
CEREAL-BASED MEAL- 8 AM/11 AM/2 PM/7-8 PM
SNACKS -AFTERNOON/EVENING
